World's Tallest Historical Buildings

This handy infographic puts historical buildings into perspective.

Although China has one of the oldest civilizations, the Temple of Heaven, built in the 1400s, is only 38m tall.

The Great Pyramids of Egypt easily dwarfs the Temple of Heaven, formerly standing at 147m and being built way back in 2560 BC.

The Shwedagon Pagoda, which stands at 105m, is a good reminder that Myanmar was once a major empire in the region. I think people tend to overlook that fact.
